The Slack integration brings the Peer Agent into Slack. Mention PeerNotes in a channel or send it a direct message, and it replies in the thread. Answers come from your team’s workspace, not the open web.
@PeerNotes what did we decide about the pricing page last month? — You settled on two tiers. The reasoning is in the “Pricing review” note, with three customer interviews as sources…

Connect Slack

Connecting is admin-only. You connect one PeerNotes workspace to one Slack workspace.
1

Open the Integrations tab

Open Workspace settings and select Integrations. Members don’t see this tab.
2

Select Add to Slack

PeerNotes takes you to Slack.
3

Approve the PeerNotes app

Pick your Slack workspace and approve the app. Slack sends you back to PeerNotes.
4

Check the status

The Slack card shows Connected and your Slack team ID.
Adding the app to Slack may need approval from a Slack workspace admin, depending on your Slack settings.

Use PeerNotes in Slack

You can reach PeerNotes in two ways:
  • In a channel: type @PeerNotes followed by your question. First add the app to the channel. The app only sees channels it’s a member of.
  • In a direct message: open a DM with the PeerNotes app and ask your question. No mention is needed.
PeerNotes reacts with 👀 when it picks up your message. It then replies in a thread under your message.

Keep the conversation going

Reply in the same thread to ask a follow-up. PeerNotes also reads the earlier messages in the thread, so it can answer a question about what your teammates just said. It reads up to 50 messages posted since its last reply. Replies are short: the answer first, then a few supporting lines. Long answers are split across more than one message.

Who can use it

PeerNotes matches each Slack user to a PeerNotes account by email. To get answers, you need:
  • A PeerNotes account with the same email address as your Slack account.
  • Membership in the PeerNotes workspace that’s connected to Slack.
If either is missing, PeerNotes replies: “Sorry, I couldn’t find you on PeerNotes. Check that your Slack email matches your PeerNotes account and that you’re a member of this workspace.”

What PeerNotes can see

Slack threads can be read by anyone in the channel. Because of this, PeerNotes only answers from content that’s shared with the whole workspace. It never quotes your private thoughts, notes, or sources in Slack, even when you’re the one asking. See Sharing and privacy for how to share an item with the workspace.

Manage the connection

Open Workspace settings → Integrations to see the Slack card. It shows one of these statuses: When Slack is connected, you can also:
  • Reinstall: run the Slack approval again, for example after Slack asks for new permissions.
  • Disconnect: select Disconnect, then Save changes. Until you save, you can select Undo.
If something goes wrong during setup, the card shows the error from Slack.
