The PeerNotes browser extension puts your workspace one click away from any webpage. Because PeerNotes is in early access, the extension is distributed as a pre-release build — meaning you’ll install it manually rather than from a browser store. The process takes under five minutes and works across all Chromium-based browsers.
The installation steps below apply to the pre-release build. Once PeerNotes launches on the Chrome Web Store, you’ll be able to install the extension with a single click and skip the manual steps entirely. Existing users will be prompted to switch to the store version at that time.

What the extension lets you do

Your workspace, always one click away

  • Clip any page — save the full page, a selection, or just the URL directly into your workspace
  • Dictate a note — start a voice note from any tab and have it transcribed into your workspace instantly
  • Open your workspace — jump to PeerNotes without navigating to a new tab

Install the extension

Choose your browser below for step-by-step instructions on loading the pre-release build.

Chrome

Install on Google Chrome using Developer mode and the unpacked extension loader.

Edge

Install on Microsoft Edge — the process mirrors Chrome with one extra confirmation step.

Brave, Arc & Opera

Install on Brave, Arc, or Opera. All three support unpacked extensions via their developer settings.

After installation

Once the extension is installed and pinned to your browser toolbar, click the PeerNotes icon to sign in with your account. After you authenticate, the extension is linked to your workspace and ready to use on any page.
Pin the extension to your toolbar for the fastest access. In Chrome and Edge, click the puzzle-piece icon in the top-right corner of your browser and select the pin icon next to PeerNotes.
If your browser shows an “Extensions are disabled” banner after restarting, you may need to re-enable Developer mode in your browser settings. This is a browser-level restriction on unpacked extensions — it will no longer apply once PeerNotes is available on the Chrome Web Store.
