# Delete your PeerNotes account

> Delete your PeerNotes account from the mobile or web app, ask for your personal information to be deleted, and learn what's deleted and what's kept.

This page explains how to delete your PeerNotes account and what happens to your data. It applies to the PeerNotes web app and the PeerNotes mobile apps for iOS and Android, published by Obtainable LLC (DBA PeerNotes).

## Delete your account in the app

**Delete account** removes you from the workspace you're using and ends your access to it. If it was your last workspace, you're signed out.

<Note>
  If you're the only admin of a workspace, you can't delete your account from it yet. First add another admin, or [delete the workspace](/features/workspace-settings#delete-a-workspace) instead.

## Ask us to delete your personal information

You may no longer have the app, or you may want your personal information deleted entirely. In either case, email [info@peernotes.io](mailto:info@peernotes.io):

* Send it from the address you use to sign in.
* Use the subject **Delete my account**.

We verify the request and respond within a reasonable timeframe, in line with applicable law.

## What's deleted and what's kept

| Data | What happens |
| - | - |
| Your access to the workspace | Ends as soon as you delete your account. A workspace admin can restore it. |
| Content you created in a workspace (thoughts, notes, sources, comments) | Stays in the workspace, attributed to you, so its remaining members keep their work. It's deleted when it's deleted from the workspace, or when the workspace is deleted. |
| A workspace you delete | Its content is removed from our active systems within 30 days. |
| Your account information (name, email address) | Kept while you have an open account. Deleted from our active systems within a reasonable period after you ask us to delete your personal information. |
| Payment and invoice records | Kept as required for tax and accounting purposes. |
| Backups | Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited time, until they're overwritten on our regular schedule. |
